Boardwalk becomes Bedrock of Hope in Bulacan
Boardwalk Charity Foundation Inc. (BCFI), the charitable arm of Boardwalk, recently visited six relocation centers in Bulacan last October 8, 2011 to help those who were affected by the recent flooding that hit the region due to typhoons 'Pedring' and 'Quiel.'
A heavy downpour of rain was still taking its course when the team of volunteers from Boardwalk braved the turbulent weather conditions all the way to the flooded areas.
The sight of the countryside was debilitating as houses were submerged, crops destroyed, and the once refreshing rural backdrop of Bulacan reduced to nothing more than an empty shell of its former beauty.
The Boardwalk volunteers, determined to provide the people of Bulacan with hope, handed out new clothes to alleviate their pain. The smile on the locals' faces were priceless as they were all excited and grateful to receive the items from the volunteers.
And while the smiles on the locals' faces were big and wide, the volunteers' smiles were beaming even wider as each one of them was more than happy to provide the people of Bulacan with the opportunity to breathe just a tad easier after the disaster that hit their lives.
Thanks to BCFI, under the umbrella of Boardwalk, and to all who volunteered for this charitable undertaking, the people of Bulacan can rest easy knowing that Boardwalk is with them as they try to piece their lives back together.
Their lives may be cloudy today but thanks to BCFI and its willing volunteers, they can finally hope for a brighter day.
BCFI is a charity foundation that provides comprehensive programs and support services to the poor and the disadvantaged.
The organization is affiliated with various humanitarian institutions like the Gawad Kalinga in building communities to end poverty, ANCOP in giving education for everyone through their Educational Assistance Program, Boys Town in giving children a fresh start, and the Marikina Watershed in providing a haven for people afflicted with calamities.
