Boardwalk, Pampanga's Best Bet for Hope
Boardwalk Charity Foundation Inc. (BCFI), the charitable arm of Boardwalk, once again mounted its humanitarian efforts in providing relief for the victims of the recent flooding brought by typhoons 'Pedring' and 'Quiel.'
Determined and resolute in making a difference, the volunteers from Boardwalk trekked knee-deep waters of Pampanga last October 13, 2011. The sight that welcomed the volunteers was enfeebling as miles and miles of flood water engulfed the region.
Of course, the team assembled by BCFI for this charitable undertaking believes nobody should put up with such a tragic disposition, and it made each volunteer even more adamant in doing their part to change their lives for the better.
Visiting six different barangays in Pampanga namely - Brgy. Telacsan, Macabebe; Brgy. San Francisco, Macabebe; three barangays in the municipality of Masantol; and Sta. Lucia, Masantol; the team distributed fresh new clothes that should help the people of Pampanga move on from such a disaster.
The smiles seen on each of their faces were priceless as each and every one came home with Boardwalk relief goods. Their resolve in the midst of these trying times is something to be marveled at.
There was even one group that came by boat just to have some of the goods and we are pleased that the tragic calamity that hit their lives did not deter them from standing back up.
BCFI is a charity foundation that provides comprehensive programs and support services to the poor and the disadvantaged.
The organization is affiliated with various humanitarian institutions like the Gawad Kalinga in building communities to end poverty, ANCOP in giving education for everyone through their Educational Assistance Program, Boys Town in giving children a fresh start, and the Marikina Watershed in providing a haven for people afflicted with calamities.
